Wedding of the decade

No, not mine.

I have had the privilege of being involved in the beautifully conceived and elegantly styled design and production of my friend Beverly Lambert’s French Rustique Vintage Chic wedding.

A ceremony at Esperaza Mairie on Friday will be followed by a celebration on Saturday in a sylvan setting  of charming, tree canopied grounds around a beautiful old house set high above the hills behind Luc-sur- Aude.

The venue, the food and the frock are all exceptional. Mis en scene parfait.

Here is a trial run of the table settings, featuring vintage glass, silverware and china and antique tablecloths and napkins  from The Bride’s amazing collection.

I don’t know if you’ve seen the books of Fairies of the Flowers and Trees by Cicely Mary Barker but looking at the planned party, I think any fairy pictured in the book would be happy and honoured to be invited to the party and take delight in the beauties of the rooms and the table, adding their special ‘zing’ to the gathering.
I rather think you’ll have your own special fairies for the wedding costumes…who have been watching the creation of the dress.
While Cicely Mary Barker may have written about and painted the fairies of English gardens and woods, I think fairies will follow where they know they’ll find beauty, especially when the beauty comes from the heart.
Very best wishes to the bride and groom and all those that their love has brought together.
