I am back to considering the details; today it’s handles
Possibly a touch premature? But what the hell, details are important.
There is still so much good, affordable vintage architectural hardware out there that it’s easy to find the perfect pieces for your project.
These 19thc Arts & Crafts handles –left- were found on ebay
These Gothic style beaten metal handles –right- adorn a beautiful dressing table and won’t be prised off to decorate another piece
These ornate little treasures –below – currently sit on an unattractive and clumsy set of drawers and they will be coming off! I bought the piece purely for these lovely handles.
I think, perhaps, they will be used to unify a pretty but mis-matched pair of bedside tables at the French village house
Hope you saved that quarter sawn oak for another project! They don’t cut it that way anymore. 😉

I especially like those last ones. Really pretty! I love vintage hardware. It’s like having fun with vintage jewelry. One really unique piece can make the whole outfit. I hope you’ll do a follow up post on where the hardware lands in your house.
Have you ever tried eBay for old hardware? In the US, we also have House of Antique Hardware. I haven’t ordered from them, but I’ve had fun looking through their online catalog.

Hi Clair
Yes, most of our house is furnished via ebay and junk shops!!
I love a bargain and our budget is tiny anyway .

The devil is in the detail so they say and time and again you prove that point with your clever use of pretty things. Loving the story unfolding 🙂
