Floods in South East France

Just heard about terrible floods in North West and South East France.
Our thoughts are with anyone affected by this and if anyone out there needs emergency accommodation please get in touch, if we can help we will.
Gill & Trevor

Post Script. Have managed to get in touch with some friends in Argeles (ankle deep in water & mud but have survived, thank any deity who might be listening!) but others haven’t got back to me to say if they are safe.

Very hard to work with this worry ongoing. See my Twitter feed right for photos link

  1. I hadn’t seen this Gill until I read this post (Australian news has been dominated by the terrible cricket tragedy for the past few days – so sad) but I went off and read the reports and the floods in France look very bad. How horrible for the people affected thoughts go out to them.

    • Hi Rosemary
It’s just awful; I only found out because one of the Agencies we let the Argeles apartment through (Air B&B) let all their hosts in affected areas know last night.
Nothing on UK news! Argeles village and much of the seafront areas are very badly hit and the usual; dry trickle of a local river has burst it’s banks.

Our place is on third floor so .I am not worried about sustaining damage but I AM concerned about our friends there and all the little businesses that have just struggled back from the last recession and this will just be the last straw for many of them.

Puts our issues into perspective………….and, Sharon & Marty, if you are reading this please text me!!!!

      • Yes flooding is awful – my husband comes from Somerset near the Levels which were badly affected last UK winter by floods. It was still bad in places when we were over in April. Fortunately his mother’s property is on a hill so she was ok but for weeks she had lakeside views! It’s a horrible mess to clean up do hope your friends are all ok!
